When you see the drill pipe rotate while drilling . you think that it rotate itself . it rotate with the help of rotary table. Rotary table is install in rig floor. Power to the rotary table is given from eighter chain drive or motor drive.The motor drive is known as IRD independent rotary drive. There are various size of rotary table followed by its weight carrying capacity. The capacity of rotary table is meant by the torque which is found during drilling. Because sometime there is back also while drilling.
